If I have learned nothing else today, it's that metals expand when heated and contract when cooled. How did I learn this you ask? Why, I foolishly used a straightened paperclip as support for the roof of my tower candle-holder. The metal expanded, violently, when I lit a candle inside, cracking the roof. I wonder what damage it will do when it cools finally?
Science damn it!
